Heater controls

Ok so I took my dash apart today looking for a rattle, and discovered that the plastic mount for one of the vacuum motors that controls the heat is broken. Does anyone have any idea of how to fix this problem? Superglue will not work as that vacuum motor puts out way too much torque for it to hold.

Re: Heater controls

I'd say one way would be to possibly melt the plastic, but that's extremely risky in a place like that. You're best (and most effective) bet would be to go to the dealer or junkyard and buy the exact part, and replace it right.

I'm hoping to avoid that. To get at the part the entire dash has to come apart, and the stealership does not list that specific part, only the entire assembly, and seeing as how its a 10 year old car, I really don't want to spend that kind of money. I'm thinking along the lines of a couple of metal angle brackets screwed into the housing that slide into the vacuum motor. Thoughts? Ideas? Help!!!
