I will never understand WHY americans have to pay such outrageous taxes...

Um...the federal govt MAKES MONEY.. Why the hell is there even ghetto's, homeless people, retired armed forces personal with NO help, it drives me nuts sometimes..

Another thing, WHY THE F*CK should the average, struggling american have to worry about...and be saddened by these f*cking homeless children comercials..

It's like, they expect us to pay for rent, car insurance, food...then give the rest away...F*CK THAT.. Why doesnt our govt help sh*t out when they clearly can..?

Tomorrow, if this govt wanted to..they can clean up all the slums and homeless people living in the city....help out other countries etc...

PS, i crack up everytime i hear that our economy or whatever is in debt....THEY MAKE MONEY..literally.. Maybe it's like Mr Moore said, the govt wants there to be a lower, middle, and high class in the country..

If you ask me, i think it's all bullsh*t..... THINK OF THIS, tomorrow...you win $100million in the lottery.....right off the bat, they take 68%......THEN, with that 32% you have left...they tax you state and federal another 70%....leaving you with roughly $10 million.....yeah, the average person says, "oh, that's alot of money to be left with"....yeah but imagine what you can do with 90 million they stole...

Yes, the government wants there to be a lower, middle and high class. There will always BE poor people, people doing alright, and insanely rich people. If you make everyone equal - that's communism. And that doesn't work in real life.

Solaris - i don't think you understand the concept of the government 'making' money. Our country is indeed in debt. They can PRINT all the cash they want, but it isn't going to change what we actaully PRODUCE. The cash is just an easy way to exhange value, but it doesn't have intrinsic value itself.

Aobut the lottery winnings, the 68% ( i belive the number is closer to 35%)or whatever it is IS the federal tax. It's no different than had you worked your ass off and earned that money. Then the state takes its cut, between 5-7% and you're usually left with over half of what you won. Not bad. Especially for shit luck.

On the topic of homeless, ghetto's and what not: anyone can change that situation for themselves. You bitch about having to pay taxes, and you bitch about christian childrens fund asking for money, then you bitch that the governemnt isn't giving any money to these homeless people.... where do you think the money comes from? The printing presses? No, TAXES. And as a matter of fact, ask a lot of people who work their ass off only to watch lazy bastards live off of welfare and sell drugs, only to have nicer cars, nicer clothes ad nauseum. Hell, i think we should spend LESS money on homeless and whatever. Yeah, some people have shit luck and shitty things happen where they need some help (which is the basis of welfare) but it gets abused so badly that the middle class, which SUPPORTS this country, get pissed off.

Seriosuly, I don't mean to offend, but study up on tax systems and how money and living classes REALLY work. Learn how the economy really works, inflation, all that jive. I'm sure it will clear up a lot of issues you have with this current system.

I just HONESTLY feel the govt can do ALOT MORE. And that money they make...use it to pay contractors, architects, aid workers whatever and build rehabilitation centers for the homeless, more drug centers for people to get clean etc..

How about free health insurance.

Well right now our glorious president believes in this economic system called "trickle down" where you give tax-cuts to the "rich" who in theory are the buisness leaders, with those tax-cuts they can't boost production and create more jobs. The only problem with this system is that it is a known fact that the "rich" generally aren't interested in giving their money away, so instead of creating more jobs they give themselves nice big fat raises and bonuses while they cut wages and downsize employees. We also have these little things called wars going on in Iraq and Afghanistan and those two places are where 90% of our DEFENSE budget is being spent. I thought defense ment protecting the nation, not invading other nations but hey we're just stupid civilians, our politicians must know better. Yeah it would be great if the US did more to help out its own people and did more to help out the international community but that just isn't going to happen. Solaris you have extremely idealistic views, but at the rate our national debt is increasing we seriously will not be able to pay it off. My guess would be that soon(within the next 20-30 years) the US's credit will be shot across the world and we will see another great depression because there will be no more capital for anything let alone social welfare programs. You say give homeless people places to live, (have you actually ever met a homeless person?) I've met quite a few and the vast majority would seriously rather die than go to a shelter and given handouts (they have too much pride) and give drug addicts places to get clean. Again you ever met any hardcore drug addicts? Most of those people really like doing drugs so possibly the last thought on their mind would be getting clean. Free health Insurance? Who's gonna pay for the doctor's services? The medical supplies? The facilites and utilites? Did you know that over 80% of all hospital visits in the US are people freaking out about something like a common cold or small injury that could be treated at home. You talk about giving out money, and services yet you don't even mention education. That is by far the biggest problem in this country today. Take people in the "ghetto" as you so quantly put it. Kids living there go to shitty schools because no teacher wants to work there because generally there is a high crime rate. So if the teacher's don't care then the student's don't care and the administration is just trying to hang on to their job's so they will only do so much to prevent that from happening. Now you give those kid's some sort of motivation to accell in school, like the government will pay for you to go to college. Because some kid doing well in HS can go to college if they have enough money, but if they had enough money to go to college they wouldn't be living in the "ghetto". You bitch about taxes, I say raise taxes across the board for everyone, especially the rich. Also, cut the fucking spending. That is the only way we will ever make a dent into our debt. Next time, instead of just bitching because you saw some "save the children" ad on tv, actually think about what it would realistically take to do all these grand ideas you got in your brain. Peace-
