Question How difficult is it to remove the front rotors?

I've got a 99' Accord Coupe, and I need to take the front rotors off to resurface them. Is it a difficult job to do? And do I need to take out the wheel bearings to do it? Thanks. :smoker2:

very easy, and no, you dont have to drop the bearings. just drop the wheel, remove the bolts holding on the disc, then screw some bolts into the "service holes" on the disc to help push it off the hub.

Dont forget a C Clamp to set the piston in so you can put the pads back in -- and I always like to use a hammer to whack the rotors off... but thats just me

Oh yeah, and DO NOT FORGET TO PUMP YOUR BREAKS BEFORE YOU GO DRIVING!!!!!!

I called up a local Honda dealer, and they told me that on the 98 and up Accords they resurface the rotors on the car. They don't take them off. So my guess is that I'd have to let them do the service. They said that if they take them off and resurface them, they may not be even and I might feel brake pulsations, which I do now. What do you guys think?

They want to charge around $70 to do the job. Other dealers including shops that specialize in Hondas wanted somewhere between $88 - $150. How much will Brembos set me back (regular run of the mill, not cross drilled)? And will the squeek with my stock pads?:smoker2:

Talking Brembo Rotors

I just replaced my warped stock rotors on my 95 Civic Ex with Brembo Rotors for $30 each at Thrifty Auto Supply, brand new Metal Master Pads for $36. Why resurface when you can buy new for cheaper and have the assurance of not having to worry about it for a while.

They are local here in Vancouver WA at 360-253-6604 and the rotors are vented just like the stockers.
