1998 2.2 2wd muffler ?

Hi. Just got my 98 Sonoma extended cab w/ 3rd door, 2.2L 2wd [rear]. I want loud exhaust, and the owner of the shop that was fixing a few problems suggest getting a flow master muffler. Went down to O'Rileys and they need to know the inlet/outlet size and position. Could someone let me know what they are? Is there anything louder than flowmaster, but around the same price? Thanks

Never mind. Just went down to Auto Zone and ordered a Flow Tech 2" in 2"x2 out muffler, and my mechanic will do all the work.

You're planning on dual exhaust? How much was the second pipe that comes from the muffler?

Don't know yet...having a friend do it. He'll give me a big discount, just barely more than at cost. He looked and said he'll have to use a lot more though to bend it around the spare tire.

Yeah the spare is a bitch to get around...I had a quote done for dual exhaust... it was about 300 bucks! Most of that came from the left pipe that had to bend a lil extra to accomodate for the spare. Well, good luck with it!

Man, it is nice to know a guy! When he put my after burner on, I had him change the oil too. I bought the oil and filter though. Origionally he was going to just change the bushings in the drivers door, and then I got the muffler, and yada yada yada. Ended up putting muffler on, dual exhaust, welding 2 tips on, new pipe all the way from the cat, oil change, new bushings and pins in drivers door [I ran down to O'Riley to get them for him, while he was finishing up, so that wasnt in the expense], and fixed the 3rd door latch, it wasn't locking up at the top. Total...$180!!!! I gave him a $20 tip, so he'll remember that. He was going to tune it up too, but he didn't have time. Thats for another day.

Just find a mechanic, and become real good friends with him. He had to work on my sisters car, radiator flush, tune up, and a few other things, about $260. A shop wanted $1600!! But they also diagnosed it as a blown head gasket...which it wasn't.
