98 blazer up and dies

i searched and only found one case like to mine, but it never was solved. my fuel pump went out on my blazer a month ago so i replaced it with one from oreillys. i didn't really drive it much for about a week but when i did i could drive for about 60 miles before it would just die. it would start with no problem after that and would go for a few more feet to a a few more miles and then die again. if i let it cool down it would go father before it dies. the longer the cool off the longer it goes. i replaced the fuel filter and that didn't help. how do you check the fuel pressure and is it possible to moniter it while driving down the road? i'm wondering if maybe the fuel pump is overheating. thanks for any help.
