88 Alltrac Clutch Replacement. PLEASE HELP!!!

I tried the search tool and had no luck. I've pulled tranny's on several cars and have never had this much trouble. I have an 88 Alltrac and despite the removal of over 20 bolts, cannot get the tranny or the transfer case free from the engine. I am trying to replace the clutch and from everything I've read, the motor doesn't need to be pulled, but we can't get any separation and there are a couple of bolts underneath the intake manifold that I can't get to. I noticed that the transfer case and the tranny have a seal between them. Maybe I have it loose and it's tough to crack open, I don't know. I'm hoping one of you can point me to a DIY thread or something a little more specific than Chiltons to get an idea of how to bust this sucker apart. Thanks!
