F150 Door Panel Removal

Help! I've got a 2001 Ford 150 that I'm trying to take the front door panel off to access the power window motor. Does it come off easy? I don't want to force it...do I need a special tool? Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated. Peggy

Re: F150 Door Panel Removal

There are a couple of screws in it. Then the panel will lift straight up to unlock the plastic holders. Just look closely for any screws that hold it on. I think there is a screw behind the door handle cover also. This cover just pops off.

Re: F150 Door Panel Removal

You've got a piece of trim that goes from the panel up the side of the window to the top of the door and you have to pop off. And it does just that... pops right off. There is a philips head screw under that and one behind the little cover that goes around the door hand (it pops off too) like way2old said. You also have to pop the switch board off and pull the plugs in the back of the switches. And the little light on the back of the panel twists out. Then the entire panel will lift off. It's really easy.

Thanks for your help! I'll give it a try tomorrow and see what's going on back there. I have power to the window switch so now I'll see if the motor is working! Thanks again, you've been a great help!
