yes i totalled the car in the picture on my sig its sad but i fount a z24 01 for sale today and i have a feeling there was a reason i fount that car its a 2001 with 78000 miles on it for 6995 is that a good deal or would u try and talk em down thanks for the input also does anyone have any information on how big the difference is from a 2.2 and a 2.4

2.2 = overhead valve
2.4 = dual overhead cam

DRASTIC difference. That 2.4 is WAY faster, and I would say talk them down a little bite, and if it is modified at all, don't touch it. Modified= been driven hard.

I believe it is about a 35+ horsepower and torque difference, which is a ton!

Yeah, if you plan on speed, definately get the z24. Getting power from a 2.2 is like milking a rock... unless you shell out ass loads of money. I also agree with the modifications. I can see small stuff being ok, just check it over, listen to the engine, check the idle, etc, etc, etc.

Build on hold until I get a good paying job, either in school or once I get out. At that time a full tear down and complete rebuild should be in order.

The Purple People Eater will ride again... January 2011 can't come soon enough.

im test driving it tomorrow and it doesnt look like anything was done to it performance wise i popped the hood it just got inspected yesterday also how wierd..

so when i bought my 00 z24 r.i.p. i payed 5000 for it and it had 45000 miles and i now have an 03 2.2 ecotec and let me tell you i miss my z24 even more it was way faster
