Check Air Suspension

Help my check air suspenion light is coming on. When this happen a few weeks ago I went under the hood and the fuse was blown. I went to the auto part store and change the fuse. Last friday the check air suspension light came on again I looked under the hood once again to check the fuse but I wasnt blown. When I turn the car on the compressor ( or what ever that funny noise is) is not working. When I went to toco Bell yesterday I went over a little bump and I heard the back of the car scapping against the ground. I went to this guy who works on cars and he said to get new air shocks would cost to much, so he claimed he would put in some spring for about $200. I want to take my car to the dealership but I'm afraid that since I am a women they will rip me off. (this happen to me last april) What should I do?

When you found the fuse blown, that was your que to have the system serviced.

With a good fuse, and the compressor not running, chances are now you've fried the compressor too.

Yes, springs might be cheaper at this point, but you'd better make sure whomever does the job for you knows about the conversion. You could end up with new springs and still get "chimes" and warnings re: Air suspension system.

In my case, I'll never convert to coil springs, I need my air-springs to keep the car level with varying loads.

Considering varying weight of fuel, passengers, and sometimes a trailer, coil springs won't work for me.

If I were in your situation, I'd be prepared to spend about $1300 to restore the Air Suspension system.
