Problem with tail light...
'01 A4 1.8T Quattro...
Last Friday morning the warning light saying my tail light was out came on. I stopped at Auto Zone on the way to work and picked up a package of 2 bulbs. When I got to work I pulled into the warehouse and disconnected the wiring harness, removed the assembly, and changed the bulb. I put everything back together and started the car; problem solved. Saturday night I get in my car start it up, turn on the lights, reverse, hit the brakes and the brake light is out. I pull back into my spot, turn off the car, pop the trunk, remove the wiring harness, remove the assembly, change the brake light with the spare bulb and put everything back together. I start the car, turn on the lights and tap the brake pedal... now the whole tail light is out. What gives? |

Yeah, I fixed it yesterday... sorry forgot to post that it was solved.
Two of the sockets in the assembly require a P21w. One requires a P21 5w. They are labeled on the the assembly... When I checked these I noticed that I had replaced the P21 5w with a P21. Problem solved. |
