Question fot the Auto-Rx users...

Hey guys...I want to get the Auto-Rx for my Blazer...but the main reason why I have not is that I hardly ever drive it. It states to drive it for 1500 miles with the stuff in...does it matter if it sits in there a while? It will take some time for me to get 1500 miles on this thing....my guess is it doesn't matter...just let it do its thing, right?

yip, 1500 miles regardless.

make sure you use a basic 5w30 for the cleaning cycle.

Nothing fancy.

Re: Question fot the Auto-Rx users...

Good...I need an oil change in it anyhow. What oil should I use for the first cleaning cycle?

any dino oil should work. I went with Havoline. Don't use a synthetic on the rinse phase.

Re: Question fot the Auto-Rx users...

Thanks. After the last cycle, would that be a good time to switch over to synthetic 5w30?

Re: Question fot the Auto-Rx users...

Go with a cheap dino oil like the 5w30 SuperTech from Walmart for the 1500 miles cleaning cycle.

Don't feel bad if you push the cleaning cycle up to 2000 miles if you want.

Use a good quality filter for the cleaning phase.

I recommend the AC Delco Duraguard.

Use the cheap 5w30 for the rinse as well.

Also, you NEVER use synthetic for the cleaning or rinse cycles.

Re: Question fot the Auto-Rx users...

Thanks for all of your help. I really enjoy coming into this forum and reading all the info. BlazerLT, did you see the photos of my Blazer? Not bad for $400, huh?
