I just bought a 99 EX coupe with the Vtec with all the toppings (intake, headers, exhaust, etc) and one of my friends warned me about running the AC on long drives, especially with the performance parts, the engine can overheat really easily. is this something that i should really worry about or like all vehicles, in hot hot hot weather and full AC the engine gets hot? Thanks for your help!
FYI- this is the first honda I've owned, and I LOVE IT! Never owned a small, nice car before (I drove an OLD ford explorer) and this 'lil car is fun! |

Re: worry about overheating
i wouldn't be all that concerned about temp. if your engine "runs right" and the cooling system is in good repair, there is no reason to worry about it. if the engine runs hot, you have a problem that needs repaired. dont write it off as a characteristic of the vehicle because its not! ambiant air temp and a/c operation only play a role if there is an existing problem.

Re: worry about overheating
I doubt you will have any problems, all engines sometimes run hot (not overheating, but the temp. meter may be over normal) with the a/c running on really hot days, espically when stuck in traffic.
