Lightbulb HELP!Removing Door trim

I have recently started working on my 1970 1303 super beetle which has been sitting in my folks drive for the last 3 or 4 years watching the world go by and slowly decaying. However having a look over it it is certainly in pretty good nick with a few particular jobs which should get it going again barring any major unseen faults. The advice I need at the moment is how to take of the door trim. I looked up in my Haynes but it is rather vague in how I can get the door handle and the door level off. If anybody out there has any advice to offer it would be much appreciated!!!

Don't know if you're talking about the interior handle or the exterior handle.

For the exterior, look on the edge of the door adjacent to the door handle. Move aside the weather strip and you'll find 2 phillips head screws. Take these out, slide the handle forward to disengage from the body, and pull out toward the rear.

For the interior handles: hold open the handle, use a small screwdriver and pop out the plastic bezel under the handle. There should be a small notch to allow you to do this correctly. Under the bexel, there's a phillips head screw. Take this out and the handle assembly will come with it.
