Exclamation 1997 S10 wont start need help fast

heres the deal...less than 2 weeks ago i had the clutch replaced in my 97 s10 2wd 2.2 5spd. this truck has been nothing but problems mostly self inflicted(by myself) 20000 miles since febuary 9th... anyways i was driving down the road to work runing not perfect but running. all oof a sudden the truck shut off while going fast enough to go down another street into a lot. came back at the end of the work day tried to start it with nothing. its got spark but wont fire. replaced the fuel pump and filter, checked all the lines to see if they were messed up during the clutch repair, the gas is circulating all the way through, so i took out the spark plugs and no of them are getting wet. then we tried something and tried to get it to start and it shot a backfire and flames out the intake manifold somebody help me fast...i am lost

this is most likely your ignition switch. A very common problem on 97s. Replace it ASAP. It's dangerous when your truck just shuts off for no reason. This is exactly what happened to mine.

Just to confirm, do a search on 1997 ignition switch on the Chevy Blazer and GMC Jimmy forums.

Re: 1997 S10 wont start need help fast

I have a 93 s10 with starting problem. drive her every day then it just wouldnt start the starter would turn but the motor wouldn't even try to turn over. I though it was just the solenoid so i replace the starter. (bought the truck with a push button starter) But the starter will turn but nothing happens the motor doesn't even try to turn over. please help work tomorrow.
