'88 S-10 Blazer Rear End Noise

The first time I heard the noise I was passing a fence (sound bouncing back to me). It sounds like a cross between a clunk and a click. It's fairly consistent between 15 and 30 mph. I've had the rear end jacked up and ran it not the same noise whith the wheels in the air...but a little bit of a rumbling noise from rear end at same speed.

It doesn't affect drivability at all...truck runs/drives great; just bugs the HECK out of me!!

Any ideas/suggetions and especialy experience with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Chris

(P.S. Just bought this truck last month from original owner-'88 S-10 4x4 76,000 mi CHERRY condition ((except for this rear end noise)) paid $1,500)

Re: Re: '88 S-10 Blazer Rear End Noise

Yeah, that was my first thought...I guess I need to get underneath and have my wife put it in gear !!!WHILE HOLDING IN THE BRAKES!!! so I can see how it acts. I kinda talked myself out of that possibility I like to read more into things than there really is.

Thanks for reminding me (I'm going to feel really stupid if that's what it is)

Thanks,
Chris
