EDIS igntion module location

Car won't start, engine turns but won't turn over. Changed ignition coils and checked for voltage. What I thought was the ignition module turned out to be, I guess the Cruise control module. The only thing i haven't tried is the ignition module but i can't seem to find it. can someone tell me where I can find it....Thnx 1996 Grand Marquis

On my 92GM and 94CV it's on the driver's side outter fender near the firewall.

It's really weird, I know what you are talking about but it seems to be different on this car....The ignition module I bought matches the diagram shown on the manual but the location is different, I guess....HELP

Well as this car is new to me, i've learned that it does not have an ignition module. It is all controlled by the PCM. It was suggested that the crankshaft sensor could be bad, causing the no start. Does any one else have any other suggestions or has come across the same problem.

Are you sure the spark is missing? How about fuel? Have you tested the fuel pressure? The crank sensor is a good possibility if there is no spark. Could be just a loose connection also. Good luck.

I checked the connector that goes into the coil pack. The middle plug is 12v @ ignition switch on....the outer left is the signal when engine is turned on. There should be a signal at that point to the spark plugs. I test that with a test light to see it if flashed....it did not. So my assumption is that there is something or some sensor that is bad. I tried to change the crankshaft sensor, thinking it was a 5-10 min job seeing how small the sensor is. Man was I wrong, I looks like I have to take off the A/C compressor so the sensor can be fully pulled out. Unless some has a trick that prevents some much work....
