inside door handle fails, outside works

Have a 95 Chevy Sub and the inside door handle activates the latching mechanism differently than the outside door handle. The inside appears to not fully release the mechanism anymore, where the outside handle works fine. Is there an easy fix or do I need a new latch or what?

Thanks for any input.

Re: inside door handle fails, outside works

[You may just have a broken clip. The various rods coming from the different handles and the lock switch all connect to the lock at different points, but they all use small plastic clips to attach to it (at least in every car I've ever seen. Usually you can re-attach the rod and tape or wire it back in place.

Re: Re: inside door handle fails, outside works

I just replace my inside door handle for the same problem on my 99 Tahoe. The outside handle worked great. I first replace the door locking mechanism. It was a pain but when I went to test the inside door handle, it broke off. Only $28 at the dealer. Now it works like the first day we got it.
