Re: 3sgte block weight?

A lot, I heard 350 lbs somewhere, but that could be WAAYYY off. I don't really know. I'd go rip mine out and weigh it, but that would take too long, sorry. =(

Re: 3sgte block weight?

DHL might, they are shipping a hood for me that exceeded ups size limit by like ten inches . If that doesn't work out talk to me at [email protected]. My body kit dealer could get you a good deal if dhl won't ship it. Good luck,

Re: 3sgte block weight?

Sorry, I have a friend that could get my block rebuilt with aluminum. I was wondering if that would be worth the weight drop, or would it drop that much???

Re: 3sgte block weight?

...impossible to "convert" an engine from iorn to aluminum, essenbtially youd have to prescisionly cut off the block...off...itself? whilst in the process not damaging the water jackets, not to mention you cant weld cast iorn and aluminum together (very well)

keep in mind aluminum blocks actually do BETTER when they are hotter... im not talking about 2000 degrees, i mean the temp there desiged to run at (around 1200 depending on the engine)....iorn blocks run smoother and better at colder temperatures

basically, whoever told you that is ful of shit...no celica motor even comes sleeved so it not like you can even change that
