Do 97's need the EGR cleaned?

I owned a 97 with a 3.2 V6 and 80K miles. Never have cleaned or replaced the EGR. Does this engine also requires this maintenance?

I have almost 150K mi. on my '97 and haven't ever touched the EGR valve. I believe EGR cleanliness is mainly a Second Gen. issue.

Yeah I cleaned the EGR on my 95.5 and found that it was ok even after 80k miles. I really didn't get much gunk out of it.
