Exclamation Reverse Glow Gauge Problem?

I installed some reverse glow gauges the other day. In order to get them on, you have to take off the little needle. I then put the needles back on about where they naturally fell when I took them off. I notice the RPM is off, and I think the MPH may be off also. Is there anyway to put the needles back on right? Or is it all by trial and error? Thanks

Re: Reverse Glow Gauge Problem?

I think its just trial and error. the RPM and MPH badging on the aftermaket glow lights might be your problem. I would suggest taking it off and reverting it back to stock just to see if everything gos back to normal. Sorry, I know thats not very helpfull, but its the only suggestion I have.

Re: Reverse Glow Gauge Problem?

It works fine. The needles move and all. To install the stock backing, i would have to take the needles off again and still ahve the same problem... did I put the needles back on where they go? Im going to drive behind my bro and keep the same speed. I know the RPM is 200 too high.

Re: Reverse Glow Gauge Problem?

just start your car, do you remember where it normally idled? i did this to my 240 and had the same prob. like i said start your car if you dont know its old idle then just guess. turn the needle down a tid to about 800 or 900. thats usually what my car idled sometime 1000. an jus toy with it like that til you get the needle to float right. its pretty simple. the speedo however is a lil more difficult. what you gotta do is get a friend go down a pretty straight road. highway/interstate works good. if you got cruise it works better. set the cruise or if not just try holding your speed have you friend motion your speed or cell phones work good. now turn the needle in the direction it needs to go. its all relatively simple...if your confused just pm and ill give you my # and maybe explaining over the phone will be easier.

Re: Reverse Glow Gauge Problem?

I fixed the idle. Kept the plastic clear cover off and then adjusted it. Just about back to normal. Just have to do it with the MPH now. GOing to drive behind my boy doing 30 and then flip on the cruise.

Quick question to verify... when you're in 5th gear at 2000rpm, how fast are you going?
