Do it yourself brakes
My brakes squeak pretty bad when i apply pressure when stopping. However, i don't think its the brake pads, i know what that sounds like. I think it might be that disc that holds the whole assembly together. Might be the brake lines?
I also get this high pitched sound coming from the tires while driving on the highway, and it stops when i apply my brakes. Could I possibly do these repairs myself? I really want to, I just need to get some jack stands and a good jack. I saw a really nice kit at Advance auto parts for like 40 dollars. The metro doesn't even weigh two tons anyway, so I'll only need 2 ton jack stands at least. Let me know what you think, and thanks. |

You're noise could come from sticky brake cylinders that will not release. A brake job sounds like a good start.
good repair info with pictures on http://www.autozone.com/repair_info.htm Good luck
