do all cavaliers have electrical problems like mine???

hey everyone well im new to this forum, i have a 98 cavalier 2.2 and i have so many problems with it i guess i will begin with the system charging light comes on every time i turn the heater on and stays on finally i park my car and it just dies it wouldnt even start again it just kept making a clicking sound every time i turned the key finally i tried 2 hours later and worked no problem,another problem is only my HIGH BEAMS work the light bulbs and fuses on my normal lights are fine but they still don't work.........thanks in advance for any help

Hi, I also have a 98 cavy. I have similar but different problem. My low water light stays on constantly, as does the check engine light. Both sensors have been changes twice in an attempt to get it inspected. Funny thing though, my EGR valve recently got stuck and the car started to idle rough, but the check water light went off. Well low and behold as soon as I took the valve off and cleaned it the car ran fine, but the light came back on..... It's beyond me. For your problem it sounds like the altenator may be defected or a rely maybe dead, but these are just suggestions because im still trying to figure my electroache out...

i cleaned my battery and it seemed to help a little,having this car really left a bad taste in my mouth for cavaliers
