radio install
i took the cd player out of my sentra to put in my 95 civic. i installed it into the sentra myself and it worked fine. i bought a wiring harness and hooked it up, but it didnt work, so i thought the radio might be broken because my sentra was sitting in the driveway for a few months and it was getting really hot in there with the windows up. so i went to best buy and bought a new one. this time i got a pioneer, but i bought one that had been returned. the salesman said it still worked fine. it doesnt work. am i doing anyhting wrong? is there something special you have to do when installing a radio on a civic? the stock radio still works fine, but if i turn the car off the channels get reset. could there be something wrong with the memory wire? if there is, how do i go about rewiring it? or are just both my radios dead?

It could be that you have a blown fuse. the fuse for the memory is under the hood. the fuse for the acc. is under the dash, on the drivers side. i am guessing that none of the radios where damaged.it could have been the fuse the whole time.use a test light and check for energy going to the radio. the yellow should always have power and the red should only have power when you turn the key.

i wsa right about the yellow wire. it involved me drilling the firewal and runnin ga new one. quite a bitch but i always liked working on cars. its strange that the aftermarket radios wouldnt turn on without the memory wire. the stock radio worked fine just didnt remember anything.
