Help! Power windows problem

Front, passenger's side power window on my 96 grand am se is acting weird. kind of hard to explain, but here goes: It acts like the motor doesn't hold the power because the window will go up and down about two times and then you can hear the motor starting to wind down and the window will just stop. If you wait a few minutes (maybe for motor to recharge?) and try to move the window up again, it will go up about an inch and then it will stop again. So basically, I have to move it up an inch then wait, do over again until I got it up. I don't have any idea what the problem is, whether it has to do with the regulator or motor. Any help would be wonderful. Thanks.

I had the same problem with mine, what I ended up doing was replacing the regulator and motor, got one out of a wreck and its pretty easy to change. The window motors aren't the greatest in these cars, and they seem to burn out every 3 or 4 years, depending on how much you use the windows. I usually have the ac on, so mine usually last a little longer. I also ended up replacing the window switch as that had a bad contact in it, you had to wiggle the switch around a little to get any of the windows to go up or down.
