Confusing me like none other!

Ok. Ever since ive owned my '92 RS, the hood hydraulics have been worn and have never worked. I have a giant piece of pipe that i carry in my trunk to hold it up when i need to be under the hood.

I went to pick and pull and found brand new ones stashed in a completely rebuilt third-gen (which tragically found its way around a tree or something) and snagged them. (they were in the back seat of the car, not actually on the hood)

Now, my question is, how the hell do i get the old ones off and then put the new ones on??
I looked it over for a really long time and got frustrated as all hel and pissed off because the metal wont bend and thus not giving me any way to get them off.

I dont even know if im supposed to be bending anything. Please help, its a pain in the ass having brand new ones and not being able to use them.
Thx.

-Mike

I do believe its a ball and socket, you just pry the gas stay off the ball on the hinge and on the body of the car. I took a pair off in a rather violent way at midnight a few years ago when the hood latch came apart on the hood and the hood came off...

Well, ive tried bending everything there is to bend. This is retarded. Its going nowhere. Im considering just sawing through the old ones. (of course that wouldnt help me get the new ones on now would it?)

THIS IS GAY

What am i supposed to use to pry it away from the hinge thing?

Does it make me a moron if i say no i havent?

I didnt think i could.
Its got the same problem as the hydraulics. Its sealed to the body with those damn bolt-type things that cant be removed.
(well obviously they must be removable) but thats my question: how do you get those off??
