I just bought an 01 Venture LT. Everything seems to work great except the rear parking assist feature. Basically the only thing it does is beep once. I don't see any lights in the back or anything else. No continual beeps as you get closer which apparently is how it is supossed to work.
Any ideas on what I can check or what the problem could be? I searched all the venture/sihouette/montana posts with no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Also, there is a "Disable Switch" in the overhead console. Make sure that is NOT in the disable position. Let us know. Take Care,

No lights at all come on during the "bulb test" I've never seen any of those back lights come on at any point.
I've tried with the overhead switch both ways. One way I get nothing the other way I get the one beep. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Re: Parking assist option ----> help plz

Just so you know, I don't have this "feature" in my van, I am working from the service manual. It says that most of the "control" components are mounted in front of the right-rear wheel housing (under the trim panel - inside the van). There is even supposed to be a "diagnostic connector" that can be shorted to ground so that the control module will enter a diagnostic mode. It says to 1) short diag connector to ground while in park, 2) turn ignition to ON, 3) put van in REVERSE within 5 seconds. The lights should turn on, flash, and there may be some chimes to tell what is going on or what is wrong. BUT, if you still get NO LIGHTS at all, it says to "check display, wiring, or module" - of course. I would try to remove the trim panel and check ALL the connections between the control module and the other components (display, sensors, power & ground). Its a start Take Care,
