Downpipe Question
What is the inlet diameter of a stock down pipe? I have been trying not to ask this ignorant ass question but I cant find it anywhere! My friend wants a new down pipe and another of my friends is going to weld us a catback, we just need to know if we should get a new downpipe with a 2.5" inlet or a 3" inlet (we are going for a full 3" exhaust). Thanks!

Ok, so would a down pipe with a 3" inlet bolt up to the stock o2 housing?

Re: Downpipe Question
I have a 2.5 inlet, 3" outlet and it fit to the o2 housing perfect. I assume your gonna have to port ur o2 housing to make it fit, or buy an aftermarket one

Ya it will bolt right up but without a ported o2 housing you most likely wont end up with a huge power gain.

The stock exhaust rusted through and was dragging all over the ground so we decided to buy a new down pipe and have our friend weld the rest, we just needed to know if we needed to get a 2.5" inlet or if a 3" inlet one would work... we arent sure on future plans so if a 3" would bolt up, we were going to get that just incase. We will probably port the o2 housing and a 2g manifold this winter. Just to clarify... a downpipe with 3" inlet WILL bolt up to a stock o2 housing?

Re: Downpipe Question
the stock o2 housing is 2.5''
most DP's have a 2.5'' inlet, then after the flex section [very important part] it is 3'' |
