DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE HATCH:

Car: 1996 Civic Hatch CX

Color: Milano Red

Mileage: Approx. 188k (I can figure out the exact mileage if needed because I took pics of the CX cluster and the EX when I switched them out). I still have the CX cluster so it will come with the hatch.

Engine: Stock D16Y7

When we met: I picked this hatch up on January 1st, 2005 from a guy in Virigina from Honda-Tech. I have been looking for an EG for the longest and finally gave in thinking an EK would satisfy me. It has in most ways, but overall I prefer EG's. The car was pretty much stock when I picked it up with the exception of a silver shift knob. The paint was pretty bad when I picked her up.

Maintenance: Once I got her home I changed the timing belt, water pump, plugs, wires, dizzy cap / button and the oil as well with parts from Autozone (I have pics of all this because I am a picture whore :-) When changing the timing belt I could not get one screw back in to the plastic TB cover, so I left it out. I also ended up breaking one of the ears off the dizzy when I took it off. Neither of the 2 have not had any effect on the motor this far. Since Jan. I have changed the oil three times. Last time was the last week of April when I left for Atlanta. I also drained the antifreeze and installed Prestone (green). A compression check was done on the motor a week after I purchased it. Here's the link to the thread on the compression check. The vid (I have it on my pc somewhere) is not working but you can see the numbers on the motor:

When I bought the car the guy told me the 02 sensor would sometimes cause the CEL to come on. When it came on I had it diagnosed at Auto Zone and I changed the 02 out with a spare that was laying around. It turned out not be long enough so I ghetto rigged it to make it longer. The CEL still comes on about every 30-45 days and I either go to Auto Zone to have it turned off or just pull the battery cable for the night and it stays off for another 4-6 weeks.

If I have the car when I get back to Atlanta all this will be fixed. Just no time right now and no place to work on the car down here. I am in Brunswick, Ga for 16 weeks of training for my new job. I don't even drive it much since there are buses that take us to Jacksonville to Savannah and everywhere in town.

Suspension: The suspension is Omni Power FULL coilovers street application. I bought them brand new from a local shop. I have pics of the install and also receipt.

Exterior: Before the car was painted I swapped front ends with a friend's 2000 Si. So, everything fenders, hood, sideskirts, grill, lip, headlights are ALL OEM. The fog lamps are OEM as well with JDM Yellow Luminics bulbs installed. Rear "Civic", "CX", and "H" emblems are not installed on the car, but I have them. The "H" emblem will need another rubber grommet to be installed.

Paint: The paint was done at the end of Jan. by my bro "Hybrid95Accord". He is in school learning to paint so he's not the best. However, I always get props on the paint and he has a list of peeps he has waiting to get their rides painted.

Here is the thread for the milano red paint: http://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1133998

Mirrors, lip, door handles are all painted Milano red. From 5 feet it looks really good. If you get up on it you may notice a few runs. I hit a curb in Daytona so the lip on the pass. side has a nice chip in it. The sideskirts are on but a little loose. Just need a couple of the plastic clips underneath. It's only noticeable if you grab and wiggle the sideskirt. I waxed it in May while I was in Atlanta, but it could use another coat in the near future. There are not many dings on the exterior, but there are some. There is a dent that is in front of the rear tire on the drivers side. I always thought it was the contour of the exterior, but my bro pointed it out to me when he did the paint. I told him not to worry about it since it's not noticeable. You'll have to see it, I know you are thinking WTF :-)

Interior: No power locks, windows, and no power steering. The interior is pretty much stock and pretty much flawless. Very solid with only a small rattle on the passenger side dash area that I have not been able to locate yet. I removed the front seats and center console to give the carpet a nice steam clean. All the interior pieces including the doors were removed and washed down with soap & water. I installed my Kenwood MP3 player down in the pocket just about the cup holders. The factory radio is up top still as a decoy. I picked up a harness to wire the factory deck up just for power (clock and illumination at night), but yet to install it. It will be included. The only mods on the inside is the EX cluster, shift knob, and OEM rear factory cargo cover. The inside is missing the sun visor clip for the pass. side, cup holder lid does not stay down.

Wheels/Tires: The wheels are Rota C8's wrapped in Kumho Ecsta 205/45/16. The thread is running thin but still think there is a few thousand left in them.

AC blows ice cold and heat works just as well.

Besides the CEL coming on for the 02 sensor I have not had a single problem with the car.

All the small things will/would be taking care of when I get back to Atlanta in September and into my new house that will have a 2 car garage :-)
