Blower motor problem

I've searched this topic and didn't find any information so I'll post my particular problem. I have a '94 Lumina APV 3.1 liter and the blower motor does not work. The blower motor is only about 2 years old but I bought a new one and tried it out as well with no luck. The blower motor relay was replaced (I tested it and it's good) and the fuse is good. The control panel lights up as it should and you can hear the air conditioning compressor kick on when you flip the switch but still no air hot or cold coming out of the vents. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Re: Blower motor problem

there is a resistor that controls fan speed that is probably your culprit. When they burn out, you'll lose the lower speeds first, and then over time, you'll lose them all. The ac delco part number is 15-71656 and it costs about $17. It is located under the dash right next to the blower motor.

Thanks for the reply. It turned out to be a mysterious relay on the firewall. According to the Hayne's manual I have, the blower motor relay is under the dash. I replaced that relay with no luck. As I was looking around the engine compartment, I noticed another relay on the firewall which had wires running from it into the blower motor. I pulled that one and lo and behold, it was melted around the contacts on the inside. I replaced it and that did the trick. When I bought it, I wasn't sure what it was called because I thought I'd already replaced the blower motor relay so they cross-referenced it using the part # on it. When they pulled it up on the screen, it was listed as simply 'relay', no other description. Was that another blower motor relay?
