Gas saving, and power

I have 97 4x4 blazer. My father has a 94 chevy truck with the same engine. He put a spacer under the throttle body increases gas mileage and horse power. He said it worked and now he gets better gas mileage. Anyone done this?

P.S. Is there any other modification that will increase horse power and gas mileage?

What about Dual Exhaust? My main concern is gas mileage with no power loss. Someone give me the low down

TB Spacer = no

Don't go with dual, get a single muffler with a single inlet and dual outlets for dual tailpipes.

Re: Gas saving, and power

the muffler increases horse power by allowing more flow.

Dual exhaust is not needed on our trucks, the money can go into better things where you will see more gains.

So you are going with a single inlet, dual outlet muffler?

Re: Gas saving, and power

Also, make sure your engine it completely tuned up.

If you want to get the best fuel economy, do the following:

Full synthetic motor oil (Mobil 1 is the best for the price)
Good oil filter (NOT FRAM)
Full Synthetic 75w90 in the differentials.
Synthetic ATF in the tranny and in the transfer case.
Grease you u-joints.
