Fuel Filter??

i just bought a 89 4wd. got a sweet deal but it need some minor fixes. i cant figure out where the fuel filter is at. im guessing it needs to be replaced. at idle the truck starts up fine then after about 15 seconds it starts idling real bad like its going to stall, my guess is that fuel filter is clogged and the engine is not receiving enough fuel. so i just need to figure out where its at!!

find your gas tank look at the cross member it attach to and the frame.
now look up in the small gap where thay come together there it is.
If you can find a easy way to get it out please tell me.
It's the one item that i pay to have replaced, there a pain in the butt cost to factor in!!!!!!!!
