she's smokin

Hey guys n gals sup! i just bought a 92 prelude si and she runs like a biatch on fire, but there's a slight problem. Sometimes when i strat the engine she throws out white smoke, at first i thought it was the oil but everything seems to be perfect, she doesn't hesitate while drivin either and iv'e heard white smoke is good but black is bad, so i'm guessin it's something small, i haven't checked the spark plugs - u think it could be that?? i'll appreciate any kinda info. Thanx

Okay I have an 88 lude and its also throwin out white smoke.........white smoke isn't always good..........wat u want to do is make sure u aren't having any drop in your oil level by checking it from time to time............if it starts smokin after the car has been driven or warmed up then it might be your piston rings............if it smokes when u are warming up the car then it stops, then just flush the motor with motor flush and chang the oil...........if u don't feel like going into to much trouble, get a can of "Seafoam" at any major autoparts store..........3 easy steps, pour, run, rev.....................hit me up wit any more questions...........................

i have a friend with a car that used to put out some white smoke when he started it. it was alright at other times, but it only smoked when he started it. he ended up having to get his heads rebuilt. not sure if this helps, but its a possibility.

First off... Don't drive the car is it's at all possible.

The best thing for determining the problem is to change the oil and send a sample out to a lab.

The place I use is Blackstone Labs.

http://www.blackstone-labs.com/free_test_kit.html

They will send you a sample container and then you send it back. They will then send you an oil report and tell you if there is any antifreeze, even very small amounts, in your oil.

The engine WILL be destroyed if you drive it with anti-freeze getting into the oil.
