I'm getting a set of 275-70-17s put on my truck on monday, I'll let you know how they fit. I was planning on putting 285-70-17's, but the two brands of tires i liked most didnt make that size.
I'll try and post some pics after the install as well, Ryan |

just got my new tires, and they look sweet. I took some before and after pics of the truck as well. too bad i didnt think of taking pics of the tires next to each other when they were being changed, oh well.
the crappy stock 265/65/17 dueler ht's were like p rated car tires or something, they rode nice, but would spin like a mofo and not get any traction in almost slight rain or snow. the short time I've had the new goodyears on wow what a difference. they are LT's and are 6 ply. they ride rough as all heck compared to the old tires, which kinda sucks, but they grab really good in the snow piles i went through so far. I was planning on going with 285/70's and now im darn glad I didnt because with the 275/70's they have about 1/4" clearance between the frame turned full one direction and about 1/2" turned full the other direction. perfect fit if you ask me here are some pics- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

well, over the weekend we had lots of snow and slick roads. my girlfriends sister put her 02 cavalier in the ditch of a major hwy on her way to school. this wasnt just some small ditch, road height was probably about 30-40ft higher than the bottom of it. it was a somewhat gradual slope, but with two 25ft chains i was still about 15ft from the edge of the road. I tried pulling her front end with the backend of my truck and it didnt work. the car didnt move much. i tried pulling the back of her car with the front of my truck and wow, for somereason it worked. i was hauling ass backwards towards 70mph traffic pulling the car out of the ditch when i was backing directly down one lane of the two lane hwy when a cop flies up behind me lights and sirens going. oh shit! I had her about 10 ft from the road and she prolly could have driven the rest of the way out. but the cop was pretty pissed, and called a tow truck. he said i wasnt licensed and could get a ticket. overall i was lucky i didnt get one, but it was pretty cool knowing my new tires work pretty damn good
he waited there and when the tow truck came it was the owner of the shop where i got my tires from. he kinda laughed and pulled her the rest of the way out. his wife charged us $85 for the little towing he did when i did the dirty work. that kinda sucked, but I guess he did deserve gas money for driving the 15miles from the shop to where we were. there were lots of cars in the ditch that day. too bad i didnt have a light and stuff so i could try and do it again legally there is a big snowstorm that just started today and I cant wait to go have some more fun in it!
