center console replacement

hey ya,ll! Does anyone else here have a center consloe made onto there seat that has that ugly black plastic clip board thing built in to it. i hate it on my truck. i was wondering if i can just replace the top or will i have to get the whole thing new. i hate it cause when i use it as a arm rest it pops and rattles and i just hate the damn thing. any advise would be very apprecitated. thanks
