FRONT TIRE RUBBING! ride height?
I just bought a 1970 camaro RS and I cant seem to find anywhere to tell me what the stock ride heights should be for my car. Right now the tire hits the inner fender well in the front when going over big bumps or wavy roads.PLEASE HELP ME ASAP! I just got new shocks so i am thinking with 110,000 on it maybe the springs need replacing but I still want to know what height it should ride at....

before you do anything make sure your tires are fully filled...and check for pieces that may be catching on the tires....have someone watch as you turn your wheels, or whatever. this whole last week i kept hearing this weird sound, and i thought it was the power steering, turned out to be my tires were so low in air that they were rubbing up against the wheel well. figures.

interesting and i went and found out that this car has aftermarket rims and tires which are oversized! So thats part of it but then i dug further and found out ride heights and if you measure 36" back from the center of the front tire then at that point measure from the ground to the underside of your body it should be 8.22" mine is at 7 5/16" so theres the rest of it SPRINGS! AND TIRES! why not

You need new bump stops, there what keep your suspension from over compressing and causing your tires to rub. Look at the lower control arms of your car. You should see a little rubber thing like in this picture:
 That is what you need to replace. It’s Energy Suspension part number 99150. It’s a common part that a lot of GM vehicles use so you should be able to find it at your local auto parts store for under $25 a set. Ok I checked and mine is there but severly worn out. But I just got new springs and shocks and all sorts of other crap and its fixed! Appreciate all the input.
