encounter with our own kind

just making some runs and on my way home, i come to a red light and as i look in my rear view, a 3000gt pulls behind me.
its my twin, as it was the same color, but he had a sunroof

lucky guy, anway, light turns green and i go at a steady pace, the young guy in the vr4 sticks right behind me, so i spool em up and let off so he could hear the bov, he gets on the side of me and we give eachother a nod. his lane was closing so he gets behind me and follows.
i then see an opening and give him warning were about to take off, if he's any car guy he can tell i downshifted from the sound of my exhaust alone.
open lane and i hit it, he hits it directly after. i pull a good two lengths on him, and then shut down soon after.
just trying to see what he's got under the hood by giving a little run.

i'm sure if we hit it at the same exact time it would have been more like a 1 car lead if that, but he was about a second and a half late about punching it
guy pulls up on the side of me at the light and i say

me:nice car what ya got under there
him: just intake and exhaust, you
me: boost controller, that should be the next thing you get.. big difference
him: my next mods are gonna be supsension
me: nodding my head- cool, well be safe out here man, take care

he smiles and gives me a nod and drives off, i see his exhaust, looks alot like mine, exept his pipes look like 2 1/2, and they stick out more then my liking

i never knew our turbo's were as loud as they are, i knew he was turbo before i even seen the side of his car.
our turbo's sound pretty sweet

Its always a good feeling to see another VR4 pull up along side for a little fun

I pulled alongside a 99 VR-4 on the highway yesterday, being driven by a chick, with 4 people crammed into the car... our "convo" went a lil' somthin like this;

Unfortunatly, she dind't want to play, (a threw a few revs at her)... so all in all, young you are one luck mofo! Nice race man, I wish I could see two VR-4's goin' at it. Nice!

nice to hear that, but i also had the same experience. Mine was a lower trim the SL and while i was driving I saw the same exact car as mine, same color red and the same year also(96) manual. While driving, I was talkin to the guy about his car and all, than after that we raced. It seem that I laucnh the sht out of him because he had 4 people in his car i think and i had 2 includin me, oh yea it both stock, so yea just wanted to share....

I killed the engine in my 91 SL racing another SL Friday night. We were pretty much neck in neck until I blew a seal and bent a rod and valve! Man what a racket! At least I already had another engine I was fixing up. But you're right its a good feeling to pull along side another 3S. Not too common these days.
