Alfa GTV problem balancing belt shaft snapped !!

Hi,

Newbie here, just need some info we have a 1998 GTV 2.0 recently had the cam belt and balancing belts changed ( 4 months back ) yesterday, the balancing belt pulley sheared off the end of its shaft....I took it back to the garage that did the belt swap and they say that it's ust one of those things.......has anyone else had this happen ?

It's gonna require a complete engine out job to rectify !
