Rota D2s...

Im gonna be buying some Rota D2s in Gold 17x8.5 +20. My question is what do you guys think of these and Will they fit with no rolling or any problems...I really dont wanna run spacers. What tires should I run on those as well? 225/40?

the black is OK but i didnt really like what i saw of the gold in the pics i could find but maybe the pics dont do it justice. i like more of a matte bronze/magnesium look than actual gold. but whatever its your car!

I was just taking a stab at what size i would need...I wasnt set or even sure a 225 would fit now that i think about that adds like 1 3/5" to my tire size right now and the stock rims are 6" compared to 8.5" I just need to know if theyll fit now im pretty set on getting them. After Orestes comment I think he gave me the perfect reason to give them inbetween the lines.

ahh good choice. I like the gold and the five spoke. I want gold/bronze rims too. Just dont know if i wanna 5-lug the coupe or stay 4. Car should look good when you get those bad boys on. Although i do agree with orestes the black might look better on a white car, but i still like the gold. Either way it will look good.

275 tires seem a little big for an 8.5, prob bulge.. I've got 245 on my 7.5 and they bulge a little, prob fit perfect on an 8.5 rim.

besides, all the cool kids are stretching tires onto wide rims. I think for clearance, and/or autox/drift handling. SLIGHTLY stretched tires doesn't look too bad. It's when you see a 225 on a 9" rim... starts to remind of OG Impalas with 165/50s on a 15" wire wheel and a 2inch white wall. LOL

275 is probably the highest you can go, but don't dip down to 225.. i have 215 on my 6" rim and they barely bulge.. go with 255/265 so that you're guaranteed not to bulge.. either that or go to your local performance store and look for 8.5" rims and see how different sizes look on display..

195 on my 6" Rim buldge....Ok...here we go again my mom is now setup where she gets an email every week on what im doing wiht my money that goes into my savings account! Sooo...no 5-Spd swap until after school ends and I can piece together my turbo kit over the winter...but she wants to go over my financial plans to decide wether or not I can have it! Im in an ongoing battle with this woman. She said she better not see anything over $100 be taken out at once.

255s will bulge on an 8.5 wheel, but they should fit ok
i wouldnt go 265 but thats just me

The thing is, the Impala SS is hat like twice the weight of an S13? You don't need that much rubber to make the same effect.

lol why is that? I dont get why there so uptight about the car mods?? Do they want you to save your money for future use or something?? I guess they want you to move out as fast as possible lol. Owell i still think your getting away with a good amount of stuff. Car looks good. Cant wait to see it with those rims when they come in.
