I Need some advice

hey guys i need some help i found a grayish metaillic 1995 z28 it has about 135,000 miles on the body and about 75,000 on a corvette engine(a late model). He painted the interior silver and put 5 spoke wheels on it and he also painted the brake calipers, he also put leather seats in it and its a 6spd. He just put a new sound system in it and he wants 5800 for it. What would be the most you would give for it or what would you say it owuld be worht, ge abck to me asap.

Re: I Need some advice

As far as I understood it the way GM did it was the f-bodies got the corvette motor a year or two after it was in the vette just cause GM can't have camaros and T/A's being competition for the vette of the same year. That being said I wouldn't be surprised if there were certain things done to the engins in the vettes to give them a little bit of an edge over f-bodies with the same engine...

Re: I Need some advice

I've heard that some vette were dynoing what an f-body would put to the wheels, sometimes the f-body puttin more. Where's Mr. Lous, i think he was the one who said this.

Re: I Need some advice

I do believe some 00-02 f-bodies were putting 300-305 to the wheels stock

Re: I Need some advice

Same motor.

The Vette was lighter, therefore faster. Not by much though.

Most LS1 powered cars put that down. Not just the 00-02 models.

Re: I Need some advice

Taken from a reliable source a couple years back....

Quote:
Note: Factory LS1 powered F-Bodies have approximately the same Horsepower and Torque rating as the C5 Corvette of their perspective model years. GM actually underrates the specifications of the F-Body for C5 marketing purposes. Both the LS1 F-Body, and the C5 Corvette both show and average of 305rwhp on the dyno.
