Looking for oil drain plug for 85 Isuzu transmission
Once I cut the spot welded one, I will need a replacement at the same time so I am looking for one, need asap. thanks.

are the threads still good? if so try dealer or parts store, but being welded in i bet they are no good, so here is my suggestion.
go to the parts store and get a unuversal drain plug. it looks like a peace of rubber with a bolt in it. you remove or loosen the bolt slip the rubber into the hole then tighten the bolt, that expands the rubber on the inside and creats a seal.

if the universal plug doesn't work,
you could chisel the spot welded one off, and replace with something similar to the B&M tranny drain plug; basically a threaded pipe through the pan wall, gasket and nut on either side, with a threaded interior face, to plumb a smaller bolt into the drain hole. or one of those Fram quick drain plug kits. good luck |
