I just got my first Aurora a little less then a year ago and in having it I have noticed that there is a lot more to it then most cars. My main question is does anyone know of a list of items that should be regularly done to an Aurora (besides the basics). You all may think I am retarded for asking this, but I did not know what I was getting in to when I purchased this car and would like to be on top of problems that could occur before they do.

There may already be a post on this if there is could anyone direct me?

Also, I just flushed out my coolant and replaced (suprisingly easy) but now my check engine light is on, anyone experience this.

how many mile on your '98?

go to AutoZone and have them read the code for ya; let us know what the code is.

Fuel Pressure regulators are very common (and cheap)

the rubber elbows on the PCV valve tube get dry rot

intake manifold bolts can loosen a bit and give vac leaks

EGR valves can get sticky

throttle body gets dirty and causes sticky gas pedal

driver's side engine mount (behind driver's front tire) causes noise when accellerating right

most important:

cooling system maintinence (replace res cap if you have no pressure)

trans fluid/filter every 30,000

The code was the one for my O2 sensor. I left the actual number at my house and I will post it as soon as I get home

wow those list of probs I never had except the cap since i broke it all i've done is general maintanence and radiator, vehicle speed sensor, and fixed a burnt out wire. I spent under a grand for the work, and I put 110k on it in 3 yrs after it had 80k when i bought it. I guess my car is one of the cherries of the aurora production line.

I flushed and replaced the coolant myself and now I am having a problem with the coolant boiling over and spilling out somewhere, could this be my res cap???

very possible the res cap - if the system does not build up pressure then it will get too hot -- liquids under pressure have a much higher boiling point - if ya dont have pressure then its prolly the res cap.

an O2 code can be caused by a clogged air filter
