89 SHO wipers won't retract when turned off
When I turn the windshield wipers off, they no longer retract back to the hood. Is there something simple I can check, or does the whole motor need replacing? They seem to be running alot slower than they used to also.

The problem (most likely) is inside the wiper motor. There is a little contact that provides power to the motor after the switch is shut off. This gets dirty and no longer makes contact. Therefore the motor does not run and the wipers do not "park" themselves. I've taken a few apart and cleaned them up and they work fine. Dan |
