96 firebird brake problems...........
I dont know if many of you remember me. I was the guy from long island who picked up a 96 firebird that was involved in a flood.
my most recent problem is when I start the car and drive for about 5 minutes, the brake pedal gets HARD then the rear brakes seem to freeze up (close position) tot he point where you smell the brakes burning. i would park the car for 15 minutes and the car is fine until you drive again for a while then it goes through the process all over again. does anyone know what could cause this? a bad vacuum or a bad booster? thanks! |

Re: 96 firebird brake problems...........
It sounds like it may be the proportioning valve under the master cylinder

sorry for not replying but I had located the problem and I feel really dumb! I had placed a small 4 channel amp under the dash and it slid down in back of brake pedal and caused it to "press down" on the brakes. yes, I feel really dumb! |
