Help with 1992 325i OVERHEATING!!!

est 175,000 miles.
Water pump went out and 1 blade of fan broke off while driving....did get to drive the car home from the store. Friend took out and replace the broken fan, belt, water pump and thermostat and its still overheating. Looks like their are two hoses and 1 is not flowing through the engine...I need help troubleshooting what my next step would be. Am I missing anything? Water is staying in the radiator and not leaking but there are a few dings on the outer metal cage.

Re: Help with 1992 325i OVERHEATING!!!

When the waterpump was replaced, how did it break? Was it a plastic impeller, and if so, did you make sure you removed all the broken pieces? You may have a piece lodged in the system. Did you flush, refill, and bleed the coolant? Turn the heater on full blast. If it's blowing cold air with the engine running, then you have air in the system and it needs to be bled. You mentioned dings in the radiator casing- make sure the lines themselves in the radiator weren't kinked or damaged by the loose fan blade. If everything I mentioned checks out so far, then the new thermostat you installed could be faulty.
