Madden '06

anyone played it yet?

im not real big on sports games but this one looks sick. now i realize this is an automotive forum, but i would imagine you can branch out to other game genre.

i'll probably pick up the game this weekend. supposedl you can take a player from college all the way through the draft and even try and get movie deals, stuff like that.

sounds like its breaking away from the purpose of a sports game to me. its not an RPG, its a sports game. while the level fo detail and realism in the "behind the scenes" aspect is interesting...thats not what i buy a football game for. (not that i buy any sports games) but i know if i bought a racing game and had to put up with bringing the driver up from driving school, and have to worry about commercial deals instead of racing, id be pissed.

give me an old school nintendo and john elways game and leave me alone. you cant beat the purity of it.

Madden '06 kicks major ass! It does suck that they have the exclusive NFL liscense now, I really liked the ESPN NFL '05 last year. It was just $25 and beat Madden hands down last year.

Too much with the NFL Superstar mode...other than that it's pretty much the same as always.

I never really liked madden. I always liked the ESPN 2k series better. And know that EA has the rights that means no more 2K games for a few years, and we get games like Blitz the league which is a good game, but would have been better with real players.

I heard it was almost the same garbage as last year. That exclusive licence is bullshit, theres gunna be no competition for EA and their product is gunna be lacking. Competition makes better games. Now they're gunna do what they always do...

Mark my words, Madden '07 is gunna be the same shit as '06 but with updated rosters

I completely agree that is sucks EA has exclusive liscense, but the only ESPN game that was worth a shit was last years. Before they were way too easy beat and had crappy graphics, for 2k5 they stepped it up a great bit. This is why EA grabbed the exclusive liscense. Madden has pretty much improved every year in some way, The new passing features kick ass once you get used to it.
It is just a pro football game, they can't change a whole lot from year to year except the rosters. Hell Ncaa 06 reminds me of Ncaa 99 with slightly diffrent menus and a few added features.

Elway for NES? PIFT!!!! Tecmo Bowl was the best football game ever made. Barry Sanders was a god.

John Madden is god!! I liked NFL 2k5 WAYYYY better than Madden 2005....i think the controls in madden are still spongy as always....when are they going to make the controls crisper like in 2k5?

this game is amazing to play, maybe its just the insane adventure we had getting it on midnight release, but either way its a great play.
