MFI Asssembly conversion
Hi, does anyone know how to get my hands on any of the parts needed for the MFI swap out? I have searched everywhere and any time I try to ask GM, absolutely nobody knows what I am talking about. I swear-getting anything from GM about any problems I have had has been like asking the government about UFOs. I am the first to tell them of any problems
I have seen online that they are made by AC Delco, or that they are GM (I know both are connected). I have all the part numbers, unless they have been changed. |

You can order it from www.GMPartsDirect.com Just type in the part numbers and it will pop up. The injector assembly is $147.98 and the mounting bracket is $17.16. You will also need a new seal kit $18.77.
You should also be able to get your local dealer to order it if you give them the parts numbers. This will probably cost more money though. Didn't I send you the TSB? If not, let me know and I will send you a TSB that shows how to install it. |

Hey blazee. Yeah you did send me the TSB, but when I tried many different sites, they all said the part numbers were inccorrect. I was just comming on to say I found them online at GM Parts Direct. It is considerably cheaper to get them online too. I called a local dealer (one finally knew what I was talking about) and they are really pricey:
The injector assembly was $269 The seal kit was $33 The bracket was $30 Giving us a grand total of $359!! After shipping and handling charges, GM parts direct has a grand total of $230! I think I will take that $129 savings and apply it to fuel expenses, or a new exaust. I think our exaust is messed up because of all this crap. I was wondering, how fast will the clutch burn out due to the engine reving up to about 2500-3000+? Will a bad injecion unit cause that? We finally took the truck to have a drivability test done, and the tech said he could not tell anymore than the following: 1-distibutor off 1 tooth-he repositioned 2-leaks at intake manifold-we re-torched to spec (plenumn less than 2 months old, came with new gaskets) 3-o2 sensor bad-we changed 2 of them 4-ignition coil connection loose-we replaced 5-misfire on cylinders 2 & 3-we changed plugs, made sure proper gap None of this has helped, which he said it probably wouldn't because the problems ran so deep. I am considering an autotap scan tool now because the engine will run for up to 5 seconds or more after turning off the ignition. With an autotap I can observe different funtions while the vehicle is running and hopefully pinpoint it. This is a pain the (enter word here) to solve when there is no SES light on. |
