This is really making me mad!!!! I have been trying to figure out what is wrong with my 2003 Cavalier for the longest!!! Whenever I let my car roll over a bump or make a turn I get a clunking noise coming from the front suspension or some other component!! I can rock my car side to side and hear the noise coming from either my strut or somewhere in that area. If anyone has any idea what the problem is....please help me because I've taken it to mechanics and they can't figure out what is wrong. I've replaced outer tire rod ends and new rotors and brake pads, but I am still getting the same noise.

Re: Weird clunking sound from front suspension!!
I had the same problem when I would push in my brake and come to a stop. Or when I turned the wheel and backed up, but it turned out it was the rotors. However check your tranny fluid and it might be the cv joint in your tranny.

Re: Weird clunking sound from front suspension!!
Sounds like what happened on my 92 when I snapped the bolts that on the sway bar links.
Might as well check it, it's about a $5 fix.
