Intermittent Fault

I have a 92 303 Skylark with an annoying fault that I cannot solve.

Most times it runs faultlessly, but periodically the engine will just die. All the electrics appear to function and I can hear the fuel pump.

It will turn over to no avail. Sometimes it will re start almost immediately, sometimes not.

Just recently it stopped in the middle of nowhere. I towed it to my drive and it would not start . It was left on the driveway for 3 days. Eventuually it was towed to a repair center and at that time it still would not start.

The mechanic called me the next day to tell me that at the first turn of the engine it started for him. He left it on the "diagnostic scope" for an hour or two, but could find nothing wrong.

After $70 later it stopped on route to work the next day and restarted within 2 minutes. I was fortunate that time.

Any suggestions will be appreciated I am at my whits end!

Ive got a 90 buick skylark and I had kind of the same problem at 1st we thought it was the ignition module and we got them tested and they were all good and then we changed the crankshaft sensor and havent had a problem since so that could be possible with yours also im not sure thought the sensor aint that much though
