Buying an LS

I am shopping for an LS. From what I have been reading in this forum there seems to be BIG problems with the transmissions. Is this limitied to the 2000 models only or is it all years? I really like the look and feel of the LS. Is there a better year for reliability than others?

All advice is appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Barry

Re: Buying an LS

All years have a predisposition toward tranny issues. Problems range from slow shifting (merely irritating) to flat-busted.

I've got 105,000 miles on my '00 and replaced my original tranny at about 50,000. The new (remanufactured) unit is behaving normally and I have no concerns.
