Re: 99 cavalier center console removal

well figured it out.

a bolt in the front cubbie thing. 2 screws next to the auto-shifter. 2 bolt in the bottom of the center compartment. and then 1 bolt by the 2 screws.

10mm socket was needed. i bought some amercian sized ones for my american car... nope, they were metric. woo

I need to remove mine also. I cant find the front bolt in mine. all of the console is loose but what seems to be one last bolt in the front of the console, but I cant find it. Does something pop off for access?

wow, haven't been here since, but yes!

there are two in the box itself, there's one up front that you have to pull a little cap off with a flathead screwdriver first, then there's a couple or few under the shifter that you can pop off part of the console there....

the only tricky ones i recall are that one in the front cubbie, and under the shifter. the others should be easy to find.

to remove the shifter head, there's a U shaped pin on the windsheild side taht you have to pull out. that's a little frustrating, i just jabbed a lot with a flat head, but a needle nose / flathead combo would work nicer.
